On May 27, 2021 Princeton pledged endowment neutrality at some point & divestment from coal & tar sands. But the IEA says no new investments in fossil fuels. The world needs real divestment, time frames & transparency. In the face of a climate crisis, Princeton must do more. This is a historic victory for activists at Princeton but it is just the start. This announcement must be translated into meaningful divestment and dissociation from the companies that brought us to this point. No #greenwashing. To all the Princetonians who have committed to withhold donations until divestment, we have shown that our collective power is strong. Now we must stay the course and continue to withhold donations until Princeton really divests.
